Washington Nationals' right-hander Tanner Roark did all he could in the second game of three in the O.co Coliseum, but the Oakland A's rallied against the Nats' bullpen and tied it in the ninth before walking off with a win in the tenth inning.

The Washington Nationals' closer Rafael Soriano blew a two-run lead in the ninth tonight and the Nats lost in extra innings, and after the game, Nats' skipper Matt Williams told reporters a quad strain landed Adam LaRoche on the 15-Day DL.

Rafael Soriano was 8 for 8 in save opportunities in 2014 and 19 for his last 19 overall with 25 scoreless innings in a row on the mound before he blew a 3-1 Nationals' lead in the 9th. The Oakland A's tied it up in the ninth and walked off w/ a win.

Zach Walters has played exactly one game in the outfield as a professional. Tonight in Oakland's O.co Coliseum, the 24-year-old, switch-hitting infielder is starting in left field as the Washington Nationals take on the A's and RHP Sonny Gray.

Williams on three Nats' E's in last night's loss


First-year skipper Matt Williams told reporters a few weeks back that he was "baffled" by all the errors the Washington Nationals have committed early this season. Last night in Oakland, the Nats made three more for 32 total through 35 games.
