Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Ty Wigginton went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and three runs batted in, and Brad Bergesen pitched his first career complete game, as Baltimore pounded Atlanta, 11-2, in the rubber match of a three-game interleague set at Camden Yards.
Robert Andino had two hits, with a double, three RBI and stole home for the Orioles, who won the last two games of the series on the heels of a three-game slide. Brian Roberts chipped in with a hit, two RBI, a pair of walks and a run scored in the win.
Bergesen (4-2) was magnificent, giving up two runs on five hits, while striking out three and walking two.
David Ross had a pair of solo homers to account for the Braves only runs. Atlanta has lost four of five.
Derek Lowe (7-4) took the loss after getting raked for seven runs on eight hits and three walks in 2 1/3 innings of work. He did not record a strikeout.
The Orioles jumped on Lowe for three runs in the first. Roberts and Nolan Reimold each walked to lead off the inning. After Nick Markakis grounded into a force out, Aubrey Huff's grounder brought in a run. Wigginton then followed with a two-run homer into the left-field seats.
Roberts' run-scoring single and Andino's steal of home plate in the second upped the Baltimore advantage to five. The O's then tacked on two more in the third. With the bases loaded and one out, Andino walked to force in a run and a sacrifice fly from Roberts made it a 7-0.
Things continued to get worse for the Braves in the fourth as a run-scoring single by Felix Pie and two-run double from Andino stretched the hosts lead to 10-0.
Wigginton pounded his second homer of the contest, a solo shot in the fifth. Atlanta got on the board in the seventh on a solo blast by Ross.
Bergesen came out for the ninth and served up a one-out solo homer to Ross. After Garret Anderson reached on an error, Bergesen struck out the next two batters to end the game.
The Braves resume their nine-game road trip at Cincinnati on Tuesday, while Baltimore continues its nine-game homestand against the New York Mets...Despite the loss, Atlanta is 15-6 in its last 21 games against the Orioles.
