Sports Network | June 27, 2009

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Nolan Reimold clubbed a go-ahead, two-out three-run homer in the fifth inning, as the Orioles doubled up Washington, 6-3, in the middle installment of a three-game interleague series at Camden Yards.

Gregg Zaun and Aubrey Huff also homered for Baltimore, which has won seven of its last 10 games. Brian Roberts added a sacrifice fly.

Jeremy Guthrie (6-7) labored through five innings but still earned his second straight victory. He allowed three runs on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Matt Albers pitched out of a none-out, bases-loaded jam in the sixth, Jim Johnson tossed two scoreless innings and George Sherrill was perfect in the ninth to notch his 16th save of the season.

Josh Willingham doubled twice and scored a run for the Nationals, who have lost five of six. Shairon Martis (5-3) gave up four runs and six hits over five innings, extending his winless streak to eight starts.

Washington got two runs in the first inning on a pair of bases-loaded walks to Adam Dunn and Josh Bard, then Zaun hooked a pitch around the right-field foul pole to put Baltimore on the board with one away in the second.

Willingham doubled to start the fourth and crossed the plate on Austin Kearns' two-out single for a 3-1 Nationals lead, but Baltimore jumped ahead an inning later on Reimold's towering drive to the left-field seats that scored Adam Jones and Huff, who had both singled earlier in the fifth.

The Nationals were primed to counter in the next frame against Baltimore's bullpen. Brian Bass began the sixth and did not retire a batter, issuing two walks and surrendering a double to Willingham. Albers inherited a bases-loaded situation and successfully preserved the one-run lead by getting Ronnie Belliard to ground into a force out at the plate and Kearns to bounce into an inning-ending double play.

Huff's solo shot in the seventh made it a 5-3 game. Roberts hit a sac fly in the eighth to account for the final margin.

It was the first run driven in by Kearns since May 7th...Washington had the leadoff batter reach base six times...Martis hasn't won a game since May 14 at San Francisco...The Orioles agreed to terms with pitcher Matt Hobgood on Saturday. Baltimore took the right-hander with the fifth overall pick in the 2009 First Year Player Draft.
