Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Dan Uggla and Ronny Paulino homered in the second inning, and the Marlins edged Boston, 2-1, in a rain-shortened contest at Fenway Park.
Jorge Cantu singled for the Marlins to start the sixth inning. The teams then waited nearly 2 1/2 hours before the game was finally called, as Florida managed one victory in the three-game series before heading home to face the New York Yankees on Friday.
Ricky Nolasco (3-6) allowed one hit and had five strikeouts through five innings to get the victory, his first in five starts.
Jon Lester (5-6) surrendered eight hits and the two runs over five-plus frames for AL East-leading Boston, which lost for the second time in nine games.
Kevin Youkilis homered to left field with two outs in the first inning for the Red Sox, but Uggla homered to left leading off the second. With one out, Paulino clubbed his fourth homer of the season, a shot to left-center.

Jacoby Ellsbury was eventually on first after a fielder's choice and stole second with two outs, but Jason Varitek struck out to end the inning.
