Super prospect Adeiny Hechavarria, a 23 year old shortstop from Santiago de Cuba, has been called up to the big leagues for the Blue Jays. Jesse Chavez joins him after being recalled, but Brett Cecil has been optioned to Las Vegas.
Blue Jays' centre fielder Colby Rasmus was slow to run out to his position in the bottom half of the 12th inning, and was subsequently pulled from the game by manager John Farrell. Rasmus may have experienced a groin injury.
Toronto Blue Jays' third baseman Brett Lawrie was taken out in the first inning of tonight's game against the Oakland Athletics with an apparent injury to his right rib cage.
