The best game of the Padres season so far is still a loss.
The Dodgers made it hard on themselves, but in the end prevailed 6-5 over the Padres in 11 innings, thanks in large part to Dee Gordon. Gordon had three hits, including a double, two walks, and three stolen bases in the win, and drove in A.J. Ellis - who reached base four times himself - for the winning run.
Saturday night's Dodgers lineup is lacking a pair of Juans, as both Juan Uribe and Juan Rivera are sitting out the third game of the series against the Padres at Petco Park in San Diego.
I was just listening to Radiolab where they were talking about how randomness works and how, over the course of 100 coinflips, it's not really out of the question for tails to come up seven times...
The Dodgers ended their 2011 campaign with 25 wins in their last 35 games, a furious run at the end to finish over .500, once not thought possible earlier in the year. They hope that momentum will carry over into this season, and while two games is hardly anything to hang their hat on just yet, the Dodgers have a pair of interesting active streaks that date back to last season.
