Matt Kemp hit two booming home runs on Saturday night to lead the Dodgers to a 6-1 win over the San Diego Padres. It gave Kemp five home runs and 15 RBI on the season, the nine-game season to date, and the center fielder is hitting a robust .457/.474/.971 so far.

Joe Wieland's debut does not go as he would probably have liked. Still... Welcome to the big leagues.

The Padres sent Joe Wieland to the mound at Dodger Stadium to make his major league debut, and the 22-year old ran into the buzzsaw that is Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier Saturday night. The dynamic duo backed a brilliant Ted Lilly in the Dodgers' 6-1 victory over San Diego, for their fifth straight win.

The Dodgers announced Saturday that legendary broadcaster Vin Scully would return to the booth on Sunday to call the homestand finale against the San Diego Padres. Tonight will be the fifth straight game of the homestand Scully has missed while recovering at home from a bad cold.

The Padres call up one of their top prospects and try to turn the season around.

Saturday night at Dodger Stadium will feature a pair of pitchers making debuts. Ted Lilly will be activated from the disabled list to make his 2012 debut, and Joe Wieland will make his major league debut for the Padres.
