The Dodgers already placed one player on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring on Wednesday in Juan Rivera, and they might have to do so with another player soon. Jerry Hairston Jr. had an MRI on Wednesday that confirmed his strained left hamstring, which he injured on Sunday in Chicago.
Tony Gwynn Jr. answered Don Mattingly's call for more offense with a pinch-hit three-run triple in the fourth inning to help the Dodgers to a 6-2 win over the Giants Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium. With the win, the Dodgers improved to 20-11.
Before the Dodgers battle the Giants in the finale of their three-game series Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium, they will place Juan Rivera on the disabled list with a significant hamstring strain just behind his left knee.
