The Mets defeated the Dodgers with ease as R.A. Dickey dominated while the offense scored plenty of runs.
The Dodgers continued their free fall on Friday, getting mauled 9-0 by R.A. Dickey and the New York Mets. It was the sixth straight loss for the Dodgers, who have followed up their 33-inning scoreless streak with another streak of 14 innings.
Second baseman Mark Ellis is getting closer and closer to returning to active duty for the Dodgers. Ellis, who had fasioctomy surgery on May 19 to relieve pressure in his left leg one day after a collision at second base, played a simulated game on Friday, and will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday.
The Dodgers look to put some runs on the board and will try to snap their five-game losing streak on Friday night, but they will have to do so against someone who could very well be the starting pitcher for the National League All-Star Game in Kansas City on July 10.
