The good news for the Dodgers is that they scored a run in the first inning. Two of them in fact, their first runs in the opening frame since August 26, after a span of 14 games without. The bad news is that they lost anyway, 3-2 to Arizona.
As the Dodgers mercifully say goodbye to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, playing their last game against a divisional foe that has beaten them 11 of 17 times this year, the problems for Los Angeles are obvious. The team simply isn't hitting.
