The Seattle Mariners have signed free-agent southpaw George Sherrill to a one-year contract for 2012, the club announced today after Sherill passed a physical. The Mariners 40-man roster now sits at 38 players.

The Seattle Mariners have signed left handed pitcher George Sherrill according to Jon Heyman via twitter. Now reportedly done, the deal was rumored to be close earlier by Jason Churchill of Prospect Insider. According to Churchill, the deal is worth around $1.1 million plus incentives. Heyman points out that this leaves one fewer LOOGY in a shrinking market, too
