Assets
  • Boasts phenomenal control and he's a workhorse when healthy (sometimes even when he's not). Wells has a wicked curveball that hitters can't seem to get into the air, if they can make contact at all. A good fielder, especially for a man of his generous proportions. An intense and imposing figure on the mound.
Flaws
  • It's unusual for a left-hander to be as bad as he is at holding runners at first, so all those hits he allows sometimes leads to an inflated ERA.
Career Potential
  • After a long and impressive career, he's bound to run out of steam soon.
