Assets
  • Can be a great change-of-pace in the rotation thanks to his fluttering knuckleball; he's a master of that pitch (one of the few in the game). Can eat up innings and pitch on short rest.
Flaws
  • Now in his 40's, he's increasingly injury-prone. He's streaky: his fastball isn't quite good enough to keep batters from sitting on the knuckler (which can be even more unpredictable depending on Wakefield's health, the weather, etc.). Can get run on.
Career Potential
  • A solid mid-rotation starter.
