The D-backs remain in first place with a comeback win tonight, and it's capped off with a good day down on the farm. Details on an uncharacteristic shutout at Reno and an equally-unusual slug-fest at Mobile.

Another big game for the big slugger at Reno. Could we be seeing Wily Mo back in this uniform soon?

The Reno Aces reached double-figures in runs for the tenth time this season - in only 35 games. However, that was the only win for the Arizona farm system, who were outscored 19-23 in total.

The Diamondbacks' affiliates held the opposition to one run in four of today's five contests; unlike the big-league club, they won all four. They couldn't quite complete the sweep, but still handily outscored the opposition, 23-9.

Arizona's farm teams went 3-1, and outscored the opposition 17-14. Of particular note, Triple-A Reno shut-out Salt Lake, Kyler Newby and three relievers, throwing a seven-hitter.

The Diamondbacks had the day off yesterday, but not the case in the minors, where a full slate of games took place. Our four farm teams split their contests, but were on the receiving end of a couple of blowouts.

Only one victory for the farm teams today, and the Aces suffered a meltdown in the ninth. However, there were some decent individual performances to cheer, led by an excellent start for Mobile by Wes Roemer.

Reno came back from 9-4 down, eventually winning by the odd run in twenty-five. The Diamondbacks' affiliates took three of four, and outscored the opposition 25-22.

Problems with his motion and throwing mechanics led to significant arm trouble in the past and command issues. Gives up a lot of hits for a late-inning reliever.
