The third Diamondback of the day signed a one-year deal for 2013, avoiding arbitration. Infielder Chris Johnson leaves only two Arizona players left to get under contract.
One of the surprises in 2011 was the emergence of Ryan Roberts at third base. Diamondbacks fans hoped that he presented a solution at the position, both through his play and his winning personality. 2012 turned out to be a reality check.
While A-Rod does come with some baggage, he also happens to be one of the best players of all time. The Arizona Diamondbacks should pounce at the opportunity to make a trade for him.
