Series Preview: Mets vs. D-backs

Hopefully the Mets won't pass over an opportunity to win some games in Phoenix.

Brandon Crawford doubles thanks to seagulls

It was a routine fly ball until the seagulls showed up.

Rowland-Smith, Owings, Campana, Gosewisch make it

After today's exhibition game at Chase Field, Kirk Gibson confirmed the 25-man roster. Some of the choices were as expected. Others, not so much...

The domino effect of signing Bronson Arroyo

Signing Bronson Arroyo means Randall Delgado gets moved out of the rotation. But, hang on - turns out, it's not quite as simple as that. Delgado is far from the only player likely affected by the new arrival.

FINAL: Blue Jays 4, D'backs 1

The Diamondbacks dropped the opener of the series against Toronto. Brandon McCarthy allowed two runs in the third and two in the ninth. Arizona got one run back in the bottom of the ninth, but it was too little too late.

FINAL: Padres 1, D'backs 6

Taco time! Arizona scored six runs in their first game back at Chase Field beginning a 9-game homestand. Brandon McCarthy went 7 solid innings, and Martin Prado drove in three runs.

D-backs option Skaggs, recall Campana

Tyler Skaggs' latest spell with the big-league club proved a short one, and didn't involve any actual action. The club has returned to a standard seven-man bullpen, with speedy outfield Tony Campana being added to the roster instead.

MiLB Round-Up 8/12: Williams Looking Good

2nd round pick Justin Williams has been playing inspired baseball all season and is not yet even 18 years old.

MiLB Round-Up 7/22: Chafin Developing Consistency

Left-hand pitching prospect Andrew Chafin has been one of Moible's most consistent starters.

MiLB Round-Up 7/11: Munoz Making Some Noise

Joe Munoz is starting to show something with the bat going 3 for 5 last night with a double and a home run.
