The Sounders and Real Salt Lake will play the second leg of their MLS Cup semifinal series on Thursday with the winner advancing to the Western Conference Finals.
After playing to a 0-0 draw in the first leg, the Seattle Sounders and Real Salt Lake will play the second leg of their MLS Cup Western Conference Semifinal series on Thursday with the winner advancing.
With the aggregate score even at 0-0, whichever team wins Thursday will move on to face the L.A. Galaxy in the Western Conference Final. The Sounders failed to score on their home field in the first leg, despite several opportunities. Real Salt Lake goaltender Nick Rimando made five stops in the first match, including multiple leaping saves.
Seattle struggled offensively against Salt Lake this season, failing to score in all four matches. The Sounders offense will get a boost on Thursday as leading scorer Eddie Johnson will return after missing the first leg due to injury. While Johnson returns, the Sounders might be without Mauro Rosales who is questionable.
Thursday's match is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network.
