Thierry Henry had three assists and a goal to lead the Red Bulls past TFC.
Toronto FC is going to see Thierry Henry in their sleep after the way the Frenchman tormented them on Saturday night. Henry had three assists and added a goal in a brilliant performance that delivered the New York Red Bulls a 4-1 win over TFC and moved them into second place in the Eastern Conference.
TFC actually scored first, getting a great goal from Ryan Johnson in the sixth minute to go in front. Johnson teed up a shot from 30 yards that found the upper corner and the Reds had a dream start.
That dream turned to a nightmare seven minutes later when Henry got involved. First he whipped in a corner kick that Markus Holgersson got on the end of for the equalizer.
Not long after Henry orchestrated the go-ahead goal too. He nodded a long ball down and after he got it back, fed Kenny Cooper for the goal that put the Red Bulls on top.
The second half brought more fantastic play by Henry, although he waited until very late to add to his highlight reel. Two minutes from time, Henry picked up his third assist with a clever dribble to create space before putting the ball right on Cooper's foot for the 3-1 lead.
Just for good measure, Henry added a goal of his own in stoppage time. Cooper played him through and Henry simply lifted it over Freddy Hall to wrap up a marvelous match by the Red Bulls' star.
