SB Nation will be bringing you results for UFC 120: Bisping vs. Akiyama. We will be doing the results delayed with the start of the Spike TV broadcast as to not spoil any fights for anyone. The results will start at 8:00pm ET.
So check back in at 8:00pm ET for results.
Alexander Gustafsson defeated Cyrille Diabate - Gustafsson was able to put a bad beating on Diabate in the first round, knocking him down with strikes twice. Diabate tried to fire back but he lost the big exchanges and looking in bad shape heading out of the corner at the start of the second round. It didn't take much time before Gustafsson got the takedown and eventually moved to mount where he landed big shots and forced Diabate to give up his back where he'd lock up a choke for the win.
Cheick Kongo vs. Travis Browne - Browne stunned Kongo twice on the feet in the first round, landing hard punches. In the second round Kongo took over landing good damage to the knees and punches throughout the round leading to a clear 10-9 round to even things out. In the third round though, Kongo repeatedly grabbed Browne's shorts and had a point taken for the rule breaking. He clearly won the round but the 9-9 round with the point deuction led to a 28-28 draw on all three scorecards.
John Hathaway vs. Mike Pyle - It didn't matter to Mike Pyle at all that John Hathaway was the big favorite and considered by many to be the future of mixed martial arts at 170 pounds. Pyle come in and dominated the fight on the feet and on the ground including spending the majority of the round on top of Hathaway in a mounted triangle landing unanswered elbows and punches. SB Nation scored the bout 30-26 for Pyle and all three judges scored the bout 30-27. It was a great performance by a veteran fighter.
Dan Hardy vs. Carlos Condit - The entire fight was fought on the feet with the men trading hard leg kicks for the first two minutes. Hardy started to find his timing and range and was landing hard shots but was baited into a punching exchange where both men threw left hands, Condit's got there first and got there harder and it put Hardy's lights out. A few exclamation point punches to the downed Hardy and it was all over. Tremendous win for Condit.
Michael Bisping vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama - Michael Bisping got hurt almost immediately after the bell rang for the start of the first round but won almost every second of the fight from that point on. Bisping landed the right hand at will, hurt Akiyama with a head kick and constantly pushed the pace while throwing hard combinations. There was no doubt by the time the final bell rang who the winner would be and it was a clean sweep on the cards in favor of Michael Bisping.
