(Regarding a fight against Brock Lesnar) Honestly right now, probably no. Just because the (Shane) Carwin fight, (Lesnar) didn't look all that spectacular. I think a lot of people might have thought that he lost that fight. And then the (Cain) Velasquez fight obviously, Velasquez made (Brock) basically shout 'Stop, Enough, Enough' before he tapped due to strikes and that looked really bad.
- Frank Mir talks to MMASucka about his future.
This is a bit of a poorly thought out statement by Mir. In effect he is saying that a man who completely dominated him did not look impressive enough to fight again. And he does this coming off one of the worst UFC main events of the past few years in his fight with Mirko Filipovic. Against "Cro Cop" Mir refused to do much for the majority of the fight, spending most of the bout pressing Mirko into the cage. There was so little action that the two men actually started joking with each other during the fight. Yes, Mir knocked out Cro Cop late in the third round but it was far from a "statement win" over a guy who has looked as though his career was done for several years now.
If Mir doesn't want to fight Lesnar again right now because he doesn't feel that it is the right step in his career, that's fine. But to say it is because a man he was crushed by did not look impressive in his last two fights (including one against Carwin...another guy who recently knocked Mir out cold) is a bit of a joke.
