Josh Koscheck can always claim that he was game for five rounds against the best welterweight the sport has ever seen, but he can't say he won the fight. Hell, he can't say he won a round. Georges St. Pierre displayed some of the best boxing ever displayed in mixed martial arts as he jabbed and hooked his way to a dominant victory.
Right from the early part of the first round it was St. Pierre establishing his jab. The hard left hands crashing into the face of Koscheck quickly started his right eye swelling. By the end of the opening frame Koscheck's eye was so badly swollen that he had to be having trouble seeing. After more punishment in the second, there was no doubt. GSP refused to stop jabbing and landing crushing right hands as the bout wore on and eventually the swollen eye became the swollen and bleeding eye.
Before the fourth round the doctor was taking a very close look at Koscheck to make sure he could see but did let the fight continue. St. Pierre was just too much though. He landed punches and kicks at will and did manage a few takedowns although Koscheck defended many attempts by GSP to put the fight on the ground.
In the end it all came down to GSP being on another level as a fighter. Not just another level from Koscheck, but another level as compared to every other fighter in the welterweight division.
