- The ease with which Antonio Silva passes Fedor Emelianenko's guard is alarming. Certainly the top pressure from Silva made any bottom struggle difficult, but the Brazilian passed Emelianenko's guard as if it were a matter of procedure.
- Andrei Arlovski's use of distance was excellent early and bad late. Kharitonov cornered the Belarussian and used bruising power to put him to sleep. Once Arlovski hit the mat, Kharitonov simply threw Arlovski's legs behind him, indicating he was barely hanging on for consciousness.
