The second bout of UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch saw a relatively meaningless heavyweight tilt: Mark Hunt vs. Chris Tuchsherer. Mark Hunt would need to keep the fight standing to have any hope of winning. Chris Tuchsherer, training partner of Brock Lesnar, would have to do precisely the opposite.
Things never really looked good for Tuchsherher. The former Division II All-American wrestler was simply unable to effectively find the takedown he needed to win the bout. Hunt was surprisingly able to stop the takedown and land at much great will than most had anticipated.
Worse, one of Hunt's strikers opened a nasty cut over the right eye of Tuchsherer leaving the already stumbling opposition with less of a view to see Hunt's powerful strikes coming. That's when Hunt took over. A right uppercut sealed the deal for the New Zealand kickboxing native.
