It seems like the UFC is getting a bit of a boost from Sunday's NFL Super Bowl game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers. With Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Resort Event Center playing host to UFC 126, demand for the event has gone through the roof. Fans from all over the world make the pilgrimage to Sin City every year for Super Bowl weekend, so the UFC's timing could not have been better.
UFC tickets at Mandalay Bay are averaging around $577, more than twice the norm of recent UFC events. Having a stacked card doesn't hurt either. Along with the main event of Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort, UFC 126 features great fights throughout the entire card. Rich Franklin vs. Forrest Griffin and Ryan Bader vs. Jon Jones are going to sell this event. While some American fans may not be familiarized with Norifumi Yamamoto, he'll want to introduce himself by making a big splash at the expense of Demetrious Johnson.
Here are some other key tidbits. The average ticket price is $577, a 114% increase over $269 for UFC 125 in Vegas. The most "affordable" tickets are going for $349 in the balcony and the highest priced tickets are ringside going for $4,773.
