Bellator 36 Results: Patricky 'Pitbull' Freire Knocks Out 'Razor' Rob McCullough Late In Round Three

In our main event at Bellator 36, "Razor" Rob McCullough meets Patricky "Pitbull" Freire in the final quarterfinal bout of Bellator's season four lightweight tournament. McCullough is a former WEC lightweight champion. Freire is 7-1 and riding a three-fight winning streak in regional Brazil shows. This is the live scoring for round three.

Round 3 - McCullough looking fresher to open round three. Leg kick to the lead leg from McCullough. Two more go unanswered. One-two to the head ends with a leg kick. Freire is not checking kicks. Big right hand from McCullough sends Freire reeling. Freire lands an ineffective spinning back kick. More leg kicks from McCullough. Left hook grazes Freire. McCullough in control of the round at the halfway mark. Right hand from McCullough lands, but Freire counters with a bigger one of his own. Big right hand sends McCullough crumpling to the mat! He lands a couple more shots, but Gary Copeland was already on his way to stepping in!

Round 2 - Freire looked a little gassed at the end of round one. McCullough looks fresher here. Nice left-right from Freire. Inside leg kick from McCullough. Very nice left hook to the body from Freire. Knee to the body. Another left hook for Freire lands. McCullough busy with leg kicks. Right hand from McCullough lands. Inside leg kick. And another. Left-right combo from McCullough. Jumping knee from Freire just misses. Freire countering with punches when McCullough throws kicks. Good combo from McCullough. Another inside leg kick from McCullough. "Pitbull" throws an inside and outside leg kick. He shoots, McCullough defends momentarily, but ends up on his back. McCullough trying to wall walk, but gives up his back in a scramble. McCullough rolls through into guard and starts throwing a high-volume of strikes. Most are missing, but this is going to look good in the judges eyes as the round ends.

Round 1 - Gary Copeland is our official for the main event. McCullough comes out with a leg kick, but Freire knocks him with a good one-two that wobbles him. They're trading wild hooks. Big left hand knocks McCullough to the mat. Freire on top in half-guard, and he passes right into mouth. McCullough hanging on. Freire postures and throws big punches that force McCullough to give up his back. Freire looks strong here. Nice punches from Freire. Freire might have a body triangle. McCullough is pouring blood. Freire has an arm underneath the neck. Gary Copeland instructs McCullough not to grab the glove of Freire. McCullough is in a very bad spot right now. Halfway through the round now. McCullough throwing short, ineffective punches. Freire rolls for an armbar, but misses. McCullough throws lots of punches. Triangle attempt is thwarted. McCullough chopping Freire's legs with kicks. Just under one minute to go. Copeland allowed McCullough to stand in front of Freire for nearly a minute.

Bellator 36 Results: Toby Imada Forces Josh Shockley To Submit In Round One

In the co-main event of the evening, undefeated Josh Shockley faces off with two-time Bellator tournament finalist Toby Imada. Imada was originally scheduled to fight Ferrid Kheder, but Kheder withdrew from the tournament after refusing to weigh in.

Round 1 - Gary Copeland is our referee once again. Shockley towers over Imada. He opens up with a jab. Another jab followed by a straight right. He clinches and puts Imada on his back with a trip. Hammer fist from Shockley. Imada looks for an armbar. He has it deep. Shockley lifts him high up in the air and slams Imada down into the mat. Gary Coleman immediately steps in on impact. Shockley may have broke his arm. The replay shows that Shockley definitely didn't tap, but he may have said something to Copeland at the impact. Gary Copeland tells the broadcast crew that Shockley yelled in pain which was enough to draw the stoppage.

Bellator 36 Results: Lloyd Woodard Finishes Carey Vanier Early In Round Two

In the second fight of Bellator 36, undefeated Lloyd Woodard battles Carey Vanier. Vanier defeated Rich Clementi in his last fight and lost to Toby Imada in the semifinals of the season two lightweight tournament.

Round 1 - Gary Copeland is our referee for this bout. Vanier lands a nice left straight to open. They clinch. Woodard lands a nice knee to the head. Knee to the body. Vanier drops down for a takedown, but Woodard stuff. We're in the fence now. Vanier with a nice knee to the body. They disengage, and we're at striking distance in the middle of the cage. Good body kick from Woodard. Vanier dives in for a takedown. They scramble. Vanier finally takes him down with authority, but cannot control him on the floor. Back to the feet, Vanier shoots again, Woodard sprawls and grabs a front headlock. They're back standing now. Good leg kick from Woodard. Nice right hand from Woodard seems to daze Vanier. Vanier shoots and is stuffed again. Vanier with a straight left. We're clinching again. Big knee from Woodard just misses the head. Another takedown stuffed from Woodard. Thirty seconds now, and it's a stalemate on the fence.

Round 2 - A sharp left hand drops Vanier early. He seems to have recovered, attacking with a takedown attempt. Woodard knocks him down again. Woodard mounted and throwing punches on Vanier, who had covered up. Gary Copeland gives him every opportunity to continue, but finally steps in. Vanier looks to have injured his leg in the final exchange.

Bellator 36 Results: Michael Chandler Chokes Out Marcin Held In Round One

We open the MTV2 broadcast with 19-year-old Polish prospect Marcin Held taking on undefeated Xtreme Couture fighter Michael Chandler in the opening quarterfinal bout of the Bellator season four lightweight tournament.

Round 1 - Gary Copeland is our official for this bout. Chandler comes out and takes the center of the ring. Good body kick from Chandler. We're on the floor now, Held looking for a kneebar. He's got a hold of the leg. Chandler looks calm. Held transitions to a toe hold. Chandler using punches to defend. Back into a kneebar now. Chandler starts to slip out, and now he's standing. Held actively with kicks to the knee. Chandler dives into guard. Held keeping active hips, but he's getting caught by punches against the fence. Held looking for an armbar, but Chandler is aware and stacking Held's hips. Held throws his legs over, but Chandler is able to power through. Chandler throwing very good punches from the top. Someone is bleeding. Chandler locks on an arm triangle from half-guard. He passes to side control. Referee Gary Copeland steps in to stop. Held went out. I'm not sure if a tap preceded it.

Michael Chandler submits Marcin Held with an arm triangle at 3:56 of round one.
