Bellator 36 Results: Michael Chandler Chokes Out Marcin Held In Round One

We open the MTV2 broadcast with 19-year-old Polish prospect Marcin Held taking on undefeated Xtreme Couture fighter Michael Chandler in the opening quarterfinal bout of the Bellator season four lightweight tournament.

Round 1 - Gary Copeland is our official for this bout. Chandler comes out and takes the center of the ring. Good body kick from Chandler. We're on the floor now, Held looking for a kneebar. He's got a hold of the leg. Chandler looks calm. Held transitions to a toe hold. Chandler using punches to defend. Back into a kneebar now. Chandler starts to slip out, and now he's standing. Held actively with kicks to the knee. Chandler dives into guard. Held keeping active hips, but he's getting caught by punches against the fence. Held looking for an armbar, but Chandler is aware and stacking Held's hips. Held throws his legs over, but Chandler is able to power through. Chandler throwing very good punches from the top. Someone is bleeding. Chandler locks on an arm triangle from half-guard. He passes to side control. Referee Gary Copeland steps in to stop. Held went out. I'm not sure if a tap preceded it.
