UFC on Versus 3 Results: Dongi Yang Batters Rob Kimmons En Route To Stoppage

The third fight at UFC on Versus 3 featured another middleweight bout, this time between Korean prospect Dongi Yang and "The Rosedale Reaper" Rob Kimmons. Kimmons was coming into this bout off of a loss to Kyle Noke at UFC 122. Yang was coming in after dropping a close spit decision to Chris Camozzi at UFC 121. Both likely needed a victory to remain in the organization.

It didn't take long for the action to get started. "The Ox" Yang floored Kimmons, knocking him to the ground and Yang pounced him. Kimmons, however, was able to capture full guard. Yang then advanced position on Kimmons, moving to mount. Yang pounds on Kimmons until something opened up and the Korean attempted a head and arm triangle. Kimmons escaped the submission and tried to stand back up but was immediately taken to the ground again. Before the round closed Yang came close to locking up a triangle, but the Reaper hung tough.

But the first round would serve as nothing but a prelude to the second. Eventually Yang took over the fight, took Kimmons down again and unloaded vicious ground and pound until the referee was forced to stop the fight. Big win for the Korean prospect.
