The fourth fight on of the evening for UFC on Versus 3 featured a bantamweight bout between Takeya Mizugaki and Reuben Duran. Mizugaki was looking to rebound after a submission loss to Urijah Faber. Duran was looking to make a strong first impression in his UFC debut.

The fight opened up close with neither fighter getting a major advantage over the other.  Mizugaki must've taken a shot or two to the right eye because halfway through the second it was nearly completely closed. Yet, he still managed to strike with Duran, even landing big rights with only half of his proper vision. Despite being at a vision disadvantage, Mizugaki had a good round in the second frame with a couple of takedowns and without taking much damage on the feet. The fight was essentially even heading into the third. Still, the Japanese fighter found a way to come out on top, using superior size, wrestling, takedown ability and just enough stand-up to get past the UFC newcomer. The two traded leg and body kicks in the third frame. Mizugaki even attempted to take Duran's back in the third, but to no avail. He wasn't able to do much with it, but the control of Mizugaki won the day.

UFC on Versus 3 results: Takeya Mizugaki defeats Reuben Duran via split decision (30-27, 27-30, 29-28).
