Strikeforce Challengers 15 Results: Justin Wilcox Annihilates Rodrigo Damm

The main event of Strikeforce Challengers 15 is Justin Wilcox vs. Rodrigo Damm. The referee in charge of action is Josh Rosenthal.

ROUND 1 - Both fighters standing orthodox, but Damm circling into Wilcox's power hand early. Hard outside leg kick by Wilcox. Excellent head kick lands for Wilcox and he pounces on Damm. Damm scrambles and gets back to his feet after a brief takedown attempt. Wilcox stalking Damm as the Brazilian continues to walk right into the power of Wilcox's punches and kicks. Outside head kick is blocked, but Wilcox follows up with a hard right hand that drops Damm to the floor. Damm trying to recover and chase the legs of Wilcox. Damm rolls to his back/side and Wilcox takes his back. Wilcox continues to pour on offense while Damm hangs on for dear life.

Strikeforce Challengers 15 Results: Caros Fodor Thoroughly Dominates David Douglas

The fourth fight of the night for Strikeforce Challengers 15 is Caros Fodor vs. David Douglas.

ROUND 1 - The fighters clinch and working for position along the fence. Fodor attempts an outside trip but excellent balance by Douglas allows him to stay on the feet. Fodor attempts another trip takedown, but the balance of Douglas wins the day and he gets on top. Fodor tries to stand, but Douglas takes his back. He, however, misses an armbar and they clinch again. Knee to the body lands for Fodor and Douglas drives back on a double. Fodor attempts a jump guillotine, but can't get it. In the ensuing scramble he manages to get back on top in half guard. Fodor working nearly unopposed and almost gets a kimura, but Douglas holds his own shorts (a legal technique) to avoid the submission.

ROUND 2 - Fodor closes the distance immediately and attempts a guillotine from top, but can't get it. Now in Douglas' full guard. Douglas is able to stand and is being held against the fence by Fodor in a gritty clinch battle. Two guillotine attempts land Fodor in mount the second time and they're close to the fence. Fodor is bombing on Douglas now. Fodor abandons mount and tries for half guard. Douglas attempts full guard, but Fodor passes to side and is throwing hard elbows. Douglas trying to recapture half guard, but Fodor continues to pass.

ROUND 3 - Fodor comes out firing after the two clinch. HARD knees from the clinch land for Fodor. Excellent uppercuts from the clinch now for Fodor. Douglas did nothing to stop the onslaught and the referee stops the fight.

Strikeforce Challengers 15 Results: Scott Lighty Brutalized By Lorenz Larkin

The third fight on the Showtime broadcast is Scott Lightly vs. Lorenz Larkin. Lighty is a training partner of Chuck Liddell. The referee in charge of the action is: Dan Stell.

ROUND 1 - Both fighters standing orthodox. Lorenz showing a lot of pop and step as he throws jumping side kicks and outside leg kicks. Right leg kicks sends Lighty to the floor, but he stands and Lighty fires off a left hook. Middle kick finds the mark for Larkin. Larkin switches to southpaw and nearly eats a left high kick from Lighty. Larkin still stalking here but being more measured in his attack. Push kick drives Lighty to the cage. Right hand and left hook sends Lighty to the mat, but he manages to stand. Lighty ends the round landing a middle kick.

ROUND 2 - Left hook lands for Larkin as Lighty closes the distance. Light tries to force a single leg but Larkin shrugs it off and lands a hard left hand that drops Lighty. Lighty stands, but another one just like it also sends Lighty down and Lorenz follows him to the ground. Left hook to the body lands for Lighty. Outside leg kick lands for Larkin. One-two punches lands for Lighty. Lead uppercut hurts Lighty and a follow up attack from Lorenz drops Lighty again. This time the referee is forced to stop the fight.

Strikeforce Challengers 15 Results: Josh Thornburg Knocked Out By James Terry

The second fight on tonight's Showtime broadcast is Josh Thornburg vs. James Terry. Thornburg is a Nick Diaz protege while Terry is coached by former middleweight champion Cung Le.

ROUND 1 - Thornburg starts in the southpaw position. Right hand lands for Thornburg after a double jab. Head kick misses for Terry. Outside leg kick to the lead leg of Thornburg. Right hand just misses for Terry again. Terry seems to be finding his range as right hands and kicks seem to all be finding the mark. Right hand foillowed by a left both land for Terry. Outside leg kicks and right hands land. And then a MONSTER right hand lands for Terry putting Thornburg to sleep. That's the fight, folks. It was timed beautifully off of Thornburg's jab.

After the replay on Showtime, it's clear the stoppage was justified.

Strikeforce Challengers 15 Results: Wayne Phillips Losses To Damian Douglas In Borderline Robbery

The first fight on Showtime broadcast featured a welterweight tilt between Wayne Phillips and Damian Douglas. The referee in charge is Josh Rosenthal.

ROUND 1 - Phillips starts out left hand, looked for a head toss and ended up on his back. Douglas on top working, but as Phillips goes for an armbar he turtles up and Douglas gets the back. He tries to get the rear naked choke, but it's all over Phillips' chin, not the throat. Both fighters now standing as Phillips escapes. Double leg takedown close to but not on the fence gets the takedown. He easily walks over Phillips' back and now has both hooks in. Phillips stands and eats a few punches on the way. Both fighters back standing. Phillips lands a middle kick. Douglas tries to catch it, but Phillips shrugs it off. Douglas, surprisingly, looks extraordinarily gassed. Outside trip by Phillips lands and he's in side control. Douglas tries to roll out and stand, but gets his back taken. Phillips cinches a tight rear naked choke, but the bell saves Douglas.

ROUND 2 - A one-two to double basically lands for Phillips, but he nearly gets caught in a guillotine choke by Douglas. Phillips escapes. Phillips now working ground and pound on Douglas from his half guard. Referee Josh Rosenthal restarts the action. Left hand plus a knee lands for Phillips. Douglas is clearly winded and Phillips is a little winded, too. In the clinch Douglas lands a few punches, but Phillips finds a knee. Not much to score, but Phillips did more.

ROUND 3 - Single leg takedown by Phillips, very lazy, doesn't do the job. Phillips is stalking, but neither fighter is landing much. Douglas is looking to land power punches and Phillips isn't really responding. Hard right hand by Douglas. Middle kick by Phillips misses. Left hook from Douglas finds the mark. At the end of the fight, both fighters trade, but nothing much was amassed.

Strikeforce Challengers 15 Results: Justin Wilcox Vs. Rodrigo Damm

Tonight at 11 p.m. ET, the beginning of Zuffa-controlled Strikeforce kicks off as Strikeforce Challengers 15 takes place at the Stockton Arena in Stockton, California. The event features a main event fight between Justin Wilcox and Rodrigo Damm. Look for the removal of the previously used Strikeforce pyrotechnics and fighter entrance ramp as indications of the UFC touch.
