Bellator 41 Results: Joe Warren Vs. Marcos Galvao, Patricio Freire Vs. Wilson Reis And More

Bellator 41 airs live on MTV2 at 9 p.m. ET, featuring two featherweight semifinal fights and the Bellator featherweight champion in a non-title affair. The card includes Joe Warren vs. Marcos Galvao, Zach Makovsky vs. Chad Robichaux, Daniel Straus vs. Kenny Foster and Patricio Freire vs. Wilson Reis. Bellator 41 Results: Joe Warren Takes A Controversial Decision From Marcos Galvao

Joe Warren is the current Bellator featherweight champion, knocking out Joe Soto at Bellator 27 for that honor. He is 6-1 in MMA, and is a former Olympic qualifier in Greco-Roman wrestling at 130 pounds. Galvao is 9-3-1 in MMA, and riding a three-fight winning streak in regional promotions. Galvao fought twice in the WEC, losing to both Brian Bowles and Damacio Page.

Round 1 - Our referee is, you guessed it, Jason Herzog. Warren comes out right away with a right hand. He moves in to clinch. Knee to the midsection. He tries to throw Galvao, but ends up on his back. Galvao tries to take the back, but Warren ends up on top after the scramble. Nice right hand from Warren. He steps over into half-guard, but Galvao is able to get a knee in and sweep. They're standing in the clinch now. Warren throwing knees to the midsection. He tries to throw and ends up on his back again. Galvao has Warren's back and one hook in. Warren stands and turns. He looks for a guillotine, but Galvao gets an arm in. Galvao slips his head out. Warren tries another takedown, but does not end up on top. Standing again. Nice knee to the midsection from Warren, but Galvao trips him to the mat. Warren back standing. Galvao throwing knees to the midsection. They disengage. Warren landing a left and a right. Nice right hand from Warren. He takes Galvao's back standing. Galvao turns into Warren. Round 3 - Warren probably needs to finish, despite my giving him round one. Leg kick cuts Warren's legs out from under him. Warren looks so weak at the weight. Nice left hand from Galvao. Warren drives forward and puts Galvao on the mat. Right hands from Warren. Galvao scrambles to get back to his feet. Warren has his back standing, and takes him down into guard. Right hands from Warren. Galvao throwing punches and elbows from the bottom. Warren responds with right hands. More rights. And more rights. Warren needs to push here. He's making no effort to pass the guard. Nice elbow from Warren. Big elbows as the round comes to a close.

Bellator 41 Results: Patricio Freire Finishes Wilson Reis With Punches in Round Three

Wilson Reis is 12-2 in MMA, submitting Zac George by rear naked choke to advance to the semifinals. Patricio Freire is 15-1, and knocked out Georgi Karakhanyan to advance to the semifinals. Freire lost to featherweight champ at Bellator 23. This is a rematch from Bellator 18, where Freire took a decision over Reis.

Round 1 - The referee for this bout is, who else, Jason Herzog. Slow open to start. Leg kick from Wilson Reis. another leg kick from Reis thirty seconds later. Patricio Freire with a left hand as Reis comes in. Clinch. Reis pushing Freire up against the fence. Freire turns. Slow action. Disengage. Reis with a single leg up against the fence. Freire defends. Looks like the sun has set out in Yuma. Freire turns. He looks stronger in the clinch here. Sixty seconds left and we've seen little action. Freire takes Reis to the floor. Reis stands back up. Thirty seconds left. Right hand from Freire. Body kick from Reis.

Bellator 41 Results: Zach Makovsky vs. Chad Robichaux

This is the live blog for Zach Makovsky vs. Chad Robichaux. Zach Makovsky is the current Bellator bantamweight champ, defeating Ed West by decision at Bellator 32 to win the belt. He is 12-2 in MMA. Chad Robichaux is undefeated in 11 fights, and last fought Humberto DeLeon at "Strikeforce: Houston," where he won by split decision.

Round 1 - There was an issue with Zach Makovsky's gloves at the check-in station which caused a small delay. The referee for this bout is Jason Herzog. Chad Robichaux misses a punches combination, but lands a body kick. Makovsky takes the opportunity to put him on his back. Robichaux grabs a hold of Makovsky's neck, but can't finish from side control. Makovsky staying patient. Bit of a stalemate here, and the crowd grows impatient. Makovsky breaks free, but loses the position. Butterfly guard now. Big left hand from Makovsky. Follows with a right. Back standing now. Robichaux spins a few times without throwing a strike. Makovski with a takedown, but the momentum carries both upward. Robichaux with a knee to hte head. Makovsky with a single leg that Robichaux stuffs. Makovsky with a knee to the body. This is the live blog for Kenny Foster vs. Daniel Straus. Straus is 15-3 in MMA, and defeated Nazareno Malegarie to advance to the semifinals. Kenny Foster is 92, and submitted Eric Larkin by guillotine choke to advance to the semifinals.

Round 1 - The referee for this bout is Jason Herzog. Daniel Straus opens with an outside leg kick fifteen seconds into the round. Kenny Foster comes forward with a wild left, and initiates a clinch. Straus has Foster up against the fence now. Foster spins. Straus has his back standing now. I forgot to mention that this event is taking place outdoors. Foster escapes and we're back at distance. Two knees to the body from Foster. Two left hands miss. Foster pushing Straus up against the fence now. Straus turns. Halfway through the round now.
