MFC 29 Results: Terry Martin Quickly Stopped By Douglas Lima

The main event for the HDNet broadcast of Maximum Fighting Championship 29 is Douglas Lima vs. Terry Martin. This is a welterweight fight and it's for the MFC welterweight title. The referee in charge of the action is

ROUND 1 - Both fighters start out orthodox. Left hook misses for Lima. One-two for Lima barely misses. He then lands another right as Martin moves in, rattles Martin, follows up with more punches and that's a wrap.

MFC 29 Results: Ryan Jimmo Decisions Zak Cummings In Profoundly Boring Affair

The fifth fight of night on the HDNet broadcast of Maximum Fighting Championship 29 is Ryan Jimmo vs. Zak Cummings. This is a light heavyweight bout and for the MFC light heavyweight crown. The referee in charge of the action is Josh Rosenthal.

ROUND 1 - Cummings stands southpaw and is slightly headbutted. Head kick from Jimmo misses and he appears to be cut as Cummings presses him against the fence. The referee separates them. Jimmo stuffs a takedown and goes back to being pressed against the fence. Hard middle kick and again the fighters clinch. Not much action here as Cummings clinches every time there's contact.

ROUND 2 - Hard leg kicks from Jimmo to open the round. Cummings clinches with Jimmo again and pushes him into the fence. Jimmo nearly misses with a head kick. Jimmo ducks punches from Cummings and turns him over for a takedown, but Cummings hips out and stands back up. Jimmo perfectly times a right hand off of an outside leg kick from Cummings. Now the fighters clinch along the fence. Again.

ROUND 3 - The round starts again with clinching. Barely any action. The fighters separate briefly only to clinch again. Double underhooks from Jimmo leads to a body lock takedown and now Jimmo works from on top in mount. Jimmo passes to side and nearly lands a head and arm triangle, but fails. Not much action.

ROUND 4 - After a few strikes to start the first few seconds the fighters clinch and do so against the fence. Jimmo charges in and Cummings times a takedown but is run over in the defense. Jimmo moves out of half and into side control. Jimmo working a cradle on top. Jimmo mounts easily and after a few strikes Cummings gives up his back. Jimmo back to mount now.

ROUND 5 - And they are clinching again. Spinning hook kick from Jimmo barely misses. Cummings dives for a takedown from far outside and again, they clinch. Referee separates them. Cummings changes level for a lowered outside trip, but it's stuffed. And they clinch. Again. Worst fight ever.

MFC 29 Results: Marcus Davis Split Decisions Curtis Demarce In Surprisingly Close Fight

The fourth fight on the HDNet broadcast of Maximum Fighting Championship 29 is Marcus Davis vs. Curtis Demarce. This is a lightweight contest. The referee in charge of the action is Jerin Valel.

ROUND 1 - Davis, the southpaw, working on the outside to start and looks significantly larger than Demarce. Overhand right from Demarce misses wildly. Hard inside leg kick from Davis. Diving uppercut from Davis misses and Demarce lands an inside leg kick. Demarce reaches for a takedown, but Davis uses a guillotine to pull Demarce off of his hips and turned. Davis achieves double underhooks and uses a body lock takedown working from Demarce's butterfly guard. Full guard now for Demarce.

ROUND 2 - Another overhand right from Demarce misses. Davis uppercuts his way on to the inside and presses Demarce against the fence. Another tip takedown for Davis, this time from the 50/50 position. Hard elbows and punches from Davis on top and Demarce is now cut. Both fighters are covered in blood and the cut is on Davis' forehead. Guillotine attempt from Davis, but it goes nowhere and now Demarce is driving elbows into the face of Davis to exploit the cut. Davis reverses. Closer round.

ROUND 3 - Davis nicely times a knee as Demarce bends over to throw an overhand. Twice. And another. Right hand finds the mark for Davis while Demarce manages a body shot. The fighters spend a lot of time clinching, but neither gains the advantage. Another knee from Davis, but Demarce does land to the body. Left hand well-timed plus a HARD knee to Demarce from Davis. Davis works on top and Demarce essentially sits. Round ends there.

MFC 29 Results: Robert Washington Blasted By Hermes Franca In Two

The third fight on the HDNet televised Maximum Fighting Championship 29 card is Robert Washington vs. Hermes Franca. This fight is taking place at a catchweight. The referee in charge of the action is Josh Rosenthal.

ROUND 1 - Franca is stalking and throwing leg kicks, while Washington shows more dynamic movement but isn't landing much. Washington throws a left hook and an uppercut, but Franca blocks. Franca lands a right that drops Washington and Franca punces. Washington recovers, though, and is able to stand. Washington jabs Franca to the body and Franca responds with an outside leg kick. Franca closes the round by putting his hands behind his back.

ROUND 2 - Not much to this one. A hard right hand drops Washington, but it was a partial slip. Franca jumps on him and fires until the referee stops the action.

MFC 29 Results: Pete Spratt Armbars Demi Deeds

The second televised fight of the night at Maximum Fighting Championship 29 is Demi Deeds vs. Pete Spratt. The referee in charge of the action is Yves Lavigne. This is a welterweight contest.

ROUND 1 - Spratt starts the fight in the southpaw stance. Both fighters trade middle kicks. Spratt moves to orthodox stance and nearly eats a right hand. Deeds attempts an underhook, but Spratt stuffs it nicely. Deeds head kick grazes Spratt's face, but doesn't rock the fighter. Deeds punches his way into a clinch, but lands little. Exchanges coming faster and harder now from both fighters. After a few takedown attempts, the action has slowed slightly. Spratt barely ducks under a head kick but is backed up with punches. Deeds lands a takedown before the end of the round but misses an armbar attempt and pays for it as Spratt blasts him with punches.

ROUND 2 - Spratt clinches are fires hard knees to Deeds body. Inadvertent groin shot from Spratt temporarily stops the action. The fight resumes after a brief halt. Deeds chases down a single and presses Spratt against the fence, but can't do much with it. Spratt, notably, also know stalking. HARD outside leg kick from Spratt. And another. With a money left hook to the body from Spratt and now a barrage of punches backs up and eventually drops Deeds. Spratt follows up to the ground, on top in Deeds' half guard. Out of nowhere Spratt spins for an armbar by switching over to the other side and, unbelievably, lands an arm bar.

MFC 29 Results: Ali Mokdad Chokes Out Andreas Spang In First Round

The first fight of the night on HDNet for Maximum Fighting Championship 29 is Andreas Spang vs. Ali Mokdad. The referee in charge of the action is Yves Lavigne. This is a middleweight bout.

ROUND 1 - From the clinch Mokdad takes Spang to the ground with an outside trip. GNP now from Mokdad. Mokdad using a Turk and now takes the back of Spang early in the first round. Gable grip attempt to finish the choke doesn't do the trick. Mokdad switches to the bicep grip and that's wrap. Easy fight for Mokdad. I don't think Spang landed any offense whatsoever.
