Strikeforce Diaz Vs. Daley Results: Casey Ryan Taps Paul Song

Stay connected with SB Nation

The first fight of the night at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley is an under card fight between Casey Ryan and Paul Song. Neither is exactly a top prospect in mixed martial arts.

Referee "Big" John McCarthy is officiating the action.

Ryan started the round by landing a nice front kick to the body of Song that backed him up. Ryan followed up by looking for a takedown, but could get nowhere. Song tried to reverse the action eventually by attemping a takedown of his own and he actually gets it. Ryan preferred to work a guard game rather than stand and walked his hips up for a submission, also elevating his hips off of the mat. Ryan attempts an armbar, but it's not particularly threatening. Eventually though, Ryan locks up a triangle choke as well as an armbar combo. Song resists a little before the fight is called. That's it. He taps.

Strikeforce Diaz Vs. Daley results: Casey Ryan defeats Paul Song by submission (armbar) at 1:39 of round 1.
