At UFC 129: St. Pierre vs. Shields the third round of Georges St. Pierre vs. Jake Shields was not the action most expected, but ending with the champion St. Pierre landing a hard takedown. Shields also tried to shoot in on GSP and was easily stuffed. Shields appears focused, but must be frustrated by being unable to do anything against the Canadian champion.
ROUND 4 - Shields comes out a little stronger this round to start, but is having trouble applying any pressure. GSP again catches a kick and drives Shields to the canvas before backing out. St. Pierre goes back to the double jab over hand right combination and can't get it. Head kick from St. Pierre rocks Shields and drops him to the canvas. GSP follows up and is nearly reversed when he over commits on a punch. Shields strikes are barely moving at this point and he actually invites GSP to strike with him. Short right from Shields lands. St. Pierre's face appears to be bloody under his left eye. GSP goes back to the overhand right that just isn't there.
SBNation.com scores this round 10-9 St. Pierre.
