It’s official, Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson will face each other in a 220lb catchweight bout at the Sears Center outside Chicago, IL on July 30th. The event will air on Showtime, not on pay per view as had been previously speculated.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker spoke to the press in advance of tonight’s UFC 130 in Las Vegas, Nevada and made the announcement.

Coker also announced a new deal with HDNet that will result in the preliminary fights on Strikeforce cards airing on that network beginning with the June 18th Strikeforce: Werdum vs Overeem event.

All five preliminary fights on that card will air on HDNet: Jorge Masvidal vs K.J. Noons, Gesias Cavalcante vs Justin Wilcox, Julie Kedze vs Amanda Nunes, Mike Bronzoulis vs Todd Moore, and Magno Almeida vs Conor Heun.

Coker also announced that after the July 22nd Strikeforce Challengers event in Washington state, that all future Challengers cards will be held at the Pearl in the Palms Resort Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
