UFC 131 Preliminary Card Fights On Spike TV Pull 1.6 Million Viewers

The ratings are in for the Spike TV portion of the UFC 131: Carwin vs. dos Santos event. According to Spike TV officials, the preliminary fights earned a 1.0 household rating. Specifically, they pulled a 1.30 in men 18 to 49 and 1.34 in men 18 to 34. The average audience for the hour-long program (beginning at 8pm ET) was 1.6 million viewers.

Among basic cable networks, Spike ranked first for both aforementioned demographics in that time period. The quarter hour total viewers are as follows:

8 pm ET to 8:15 pm ET: 1,258,000
8:16 pm ET to 8:30 pm ET: 1,457,000
8:31 pm ET to 8:45 pm ET: 1,728,000
8:46 pm ET to 9:00 pm ET: 1,767,000

These numbers are up from UFC 130 and historically a strong showing for the program:

  • 10) UFC 119 (September 2010): 1.3 million
  • 10) UFC 116 (July 2010): 1.3 million
  • 10) UFC 115 (June 2010): 1.3 million
  • 10) UFC 106 (November 2009): 1.3 million
  • 15) UFC 111 (March 2010): 1.2 million
