According to a Tweet from the official Strikeforce Twitter account, middleweights Tim Kennedy and Robbie Lawler will square off at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson on July 30. The event takes place at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois and will be broadcast on Showtime. This is the second Strikeforce event held in that venue, both of which putting Emelianenko at the top of the bill.
Lawler's success in the Strikeforce cage has been up and down of late, most recently losing to Strikeforce middlweight champion Renaldo Souza at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg. Kennedy also lost to Souza, but most recently rebounded with a win over Melvin Manhoef at Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson.
