UFC On Versus 4 Results: Ricardo Lamas Puts Matt Grice Away In One Round

The second fight of the night  at UFC on Versus 4 and airing on Facebook is Matt Grice vs. Ricardo Lamas. This is a featherweight fight, meaning 145 pounds. Both fighters are previous lightweight competitors making the move to featherweight in the UFC. The referee in charge of the action is Keith Peterson.

ROUND 1 - Both fighters adopt an orthodox, low stance. Right hand from Lamas briefly stuns Grice, but he recovers very quickly. Diving uppercut from Lamas no good. Grice attempts a superman punch, but Lamas uses the opportunity to dive on his hips, working a single against the cage. Eventually Lamas lands the double. Lamas advances the takedown by getting Grice's hips and shoulders to the mat. Now Lamas moves to side control. Lamas drives a right hand and knee to the face of Grice as Grice stands. Left hook from Grice finds the mark. A devasting left high kick wobbles Grice badly. Lamas follows up and puts him away.
