UFC 137 Fight Card: Mirko Filipovic Vs. Roy Nelson Fight Booked For Oct. 29

Mirko Filipovic and Roy Nelson will collide in a heavyweight clash planned for UFC 137, which will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Oct. 29, 2011.

"Cro Cop," a mixed martial arts (MMA) legend who won the prestigious Pride FC Open Weight Grand Prix Tournament in 2006, is looking to fulfill the last fight on his UFC contract ... and perhaps his illustrious career.

The dangerous Croatian striker, 37 (by the time fight night rolls around), has lost back-to-back fights in brutal fashion, getting knocked out cold by Frank Mir at UFC 119 last September and most recently by Brendan Schaub at UFC 128 earlier this year.

In nine career fights inside the Octagon, Filipovic has won just four of them.

Nelson has also dropped two straight, losing three-round decisions to current number one division contender, Junior dos Santos, at UFC 117 and former heavyweight champion, Frank Mir, at UFC 130. "Big Country" won season 11 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) with a knockout of the aforementioned Schaub in 2009.
