Here it is at last. The official trailer for Haywire, Gina Carano's major motion picture debut. It's an action film directed by the legendary Steven Soderbergh, starring Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas, Ewan McGregor and Channing Tatum alongside Carano.
The movie was shot in Dublin, Ireland with a $25 million budget.
Not bad for an ex-American Gladiator.
Carano was supposed to return to MMA on June 18 in Texas but was pulled from the card for reasons that remain mysterious. She was initially reported to have failed her medicals with the Texas authorities, but those reports have never been clarified and the actual reason remains unknown.
Carano last fought on August 15, 2009 against Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos in the fight that remains the biggest in the history of women's MMA. More than 13,000 fans saw Cyborg finish Gina in the first round. Gina hasn't fought since.
Time will tell if her movie career will be as successful as her sojourn in MMA.
