The first round of the HBO bout between Amir Khan and Zab Judah got off to a fairly quick bout with both men willing to throw punches early. The first real landed punch of the bout was a right hand by Khan but it was a glancing blow more than a solid shot. Judah looked as though he wanted to get his jab working early but as he went straight backward he ate a one-two from the younger man.
Khan was the fighter throwing the combinations and the more active fighter through the opening three minute frame but Judah did land a solid left and a right hand before their heads clashed. Khan continued to throw the right hand off his jab until the final bell for the round.
SB Nation scored the round 10-9 Khan.
