UFC 136 Fight Card: Frankie Edgar Vs. Gray Maynard 3 In Place

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today revealed that the third portion of the lightweight trilogy between UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and challenger Gray Maynard is finally back on.

The lightweight showdown will take place at UFC 136, which will emanate from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, on Oct. 8 of this year.

Here are the nuts and bolts:

UFC President Dana White has made it official -- Frankie Edgar has verbally agreed to defend his UFC lightweight title against the only man to beat him, as well as the number one contender who held him to a classic draw in January, Gray Maynard, at UFC 136 in Houston, Texas on October 8th.

Already booked for UFC 136 is a middleweight contest between Brian Stann and Chael Sonnen, but this bout will likely serve as the feature or co-main event next to Edgar vs. Maynard, given that the latter is officially for a UFC title.

The UFC 136 fight card at the time of this writing:

Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard
Brian Stann vs. Chael Sonnen
