UFC 137: 'St. Pierre vs. Condit' will take place Oct. 29 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas Nevada.

UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre was set to defend his title for the 7th time against former WEC champion Carlos Condit until a knee injury forced St. Pierre from the card. The five-round title fight has been postponed and will take place at a later date.

St. Pierre was originally slated to face Nick Diaz to unify the UFC and Strikeforce welterweight championships, but Diaz was pulled from the bout after failing to appear at both the Canadian and Las Vegas press conferences to promote UFC 137.

UFC 137 was meant to be Nick Diaz's return to the UFC after leaving the promotion in 2006. During that span Diaz went an impressive 12-1 fighting in some of the world's top fighting organizations. St. Pierre most recently defended his title at UFC 129 in a five-round bout with Diaz's Team Gracie teammate Jake Shields.

After nearly a 24-hour period of speculation on Diaz's future with the promotion, it was announced he will now face Carlos Condit's original opponent in former champion B.J. Penn.
