2012 UFC Fight Schedule

The UFC promotes a pay-per-view event approximately once ever six weeks. They mount a monthly PPV event from the U.S. and an additional event from an international location about every other month. Most of the international events are seen on PPV, though some are shown on SPIKE TV. The UFC also puts on periodic "UFC Fight Night" cards which can be seen exclusively on SPIKE TV. In addition, the UFC produces a biannual reality show competition called "The Ultimate Fighter" which features up-and-coming talent and culminates in a live finale to crown each season's winner(s). Both events can also be seen on SPIKE TV.

Brazilian MMA stars Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva were originally set to fill in as headliners after a title bout between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen was moved, but the fight has now been cancelled after Belfort suffered a hand injury.

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will defend his title for the second time to No. 1 contender Chael Sonnen.

UFC 148 was also set to host a bantamweight title fight between champion Dominick Cruz and No. 1 contender Urijah Faber, but Cruz was forced to withdraw from the bout after suffering a torn ACL. Faber will now face Renan Barao for the UFC's interim bantamweight title.
