A black belt under Carlson Gracie, Jr., Miguel Torres was long thought to be the best bantamweight in the sport. He began his career fighting in unsanctioned shows around his hometown of East Chicago, and went on to become the WEC bantamweight champion, defending the belt three times before losing to Brian Bowles.
