Shields has found great success at both welterweight and middleweight, winning the EliteXC welterweight and Strikeforce middleweight titles. Shields was famously involved in a post-fight brawl at "Strikeforce: Nashville" which involved Jason "Mayhem" Miller and Shields' teammate Nick Diaz, among others.
