Matt Hughes is a UFC Hall of Famer and is commonly thought of as the greatest welterweight in the sport's history. Hughes began his career as a devoted trainee of Pat Miletich at Miletich Fighting Systems. He won the world title from Carlos Newton when he knocked Newton out with one of his trademark slams. In 2006 he defeated the legendary Royce Gracie at UFC 60. He has twice coached "The Ultimate Fighter," including a season where he coached against his rival, Matt Serra. Hughes defeated Serra when the two met in 2009.
