"Funky" Ben Askren is a former NCAA D1 wrestler with the University of Missouri where he compiled a career record of 153-8. He would go on to compete in the 2008 Olympic games where he failed to medal. Askren now fights for Bellator Fighting Championships where he won the season 2 welterweight tournament by twice defeating UFC veteran Ryan Thomas before decisioning Dan Hornbuckle in the finals.

Askren cashed in his tournament win by defeating Lyman Good to capture the Bellator welterweight championship.
