Sergei Kharitonov

Sergei Kharitonov is a Russian heavyweight currently competing in the Strikeforce, K-1 and DREAM organizations. He takes on former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva. His fight against "The Pitbull" will be one of the quarterfinal fights Kharitonov also has a decorated amateur boxing career. In 2003, after winning the silver medal at the Central Asian Games, Kharitonov was qualified to represent Tajikistan in boxing for the 2004 Olympics, but passed up the opportunity to compete in the PRIDE heavyweight grand prix. Kharitonov holds notable wins over Pedro Rizzo, Fabricio Werdum, Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem and K-1 World Grand Prix champion Semmy Schilt. He has notable losses to Jeff Monson, Alistair Overeem, Aleksander Emelianenko and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Sergei Kharitonov is not currently ranked in the top 25 among mixed martial arts (MMA) heavyweights according to the USA TODAY/SB Nation Consensus MMA Rankings.
