UFC 137 results: Brandon Vera defeats Eliot Marshall by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Marshall appeared on season eight of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir. Although he lost his first fight to win a spot on the show, Marshall was brought back as a replacement after another fighter could not continue in the competition. Marshall was eventually forced from the tournament after losing a unanimous decision to eventual TUF winner Ryan Bader.

After losing a fight to former IFL Light Heavyweight Champion Vladimir Matyushenko at UFC LIVE: Vera vs. Jones, Marshall was released from the promotion.

Marshal is also a training partner of former No. 1 UFC heavyweight contender Shane Carwin. Both train at the Grudge Training Center in in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The gym is an affiliate of Jackson's Submission Fighting and instructors include Trevor Wittman and Mike Van Arsdale. Other prominent fighter training at Grudge are Rashad Evans, Nate Marquardt, Justin Wren and Brendan Schaub.
