DREAM is a Japanese Mixed Martial Arts promotion which launched in 2008. It is owned by Fighting and Entertainment Group, which also promotes kickboxing under the K-1 banner. DREAM's production team includes many former executives from PRIDE Fighting Championships. DREAM events are frequently aired on Japan's Tokyo Broadcasting System and live on HDNet in the United States. DREAM consists of six weight classes (Heavyweight, Light-Heavyweight, Middleweight, Welterweight, Lightweight, and Featherweight), each with a champion, with the exceptions of Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight. There are also plans to institute a Bantamweight division in 2011. Most events take place in a ring, though DREAM occasionally employs a six-sided white cage.
